The Sound Behind the Music

A little about the journey so far

Bill McCreary is a worship artist, songwriter, and producer creating music centered on the presence of God, grace, surrender, freedom, and the finished work of Jesus.

Bill has been writing and producing music since 2009, originally creating under the studio project Uneven Lines. Over the years, his sound has developed around emotionally driven songwriting, layered production, strong melodies, and a cinematic approach to atmosphere and storytelling.

Musically, Bill is drawn to worship that feels both deeply personal and full of life. His influences come from the modern worship world, but his approach leans toward songs that feel joyful, expressive, intimate, and honest rather than overly polished or formulaic. He is especially inspired by music that creates space for people to experience the presence of God while still carrying memorable hooks, emotional dynamics, and production that feels immersive.

His songwriting often explores themes of identity, grace, healing, freedom, rest, redemption, and the overwhelming love of God. There is a strong emphasis on joy and spiritual freedom in his music—the idea that worship does not always have to come from striving, but can come from confidence in what Jesus has already accomplished.

Will’s background in creative media and production has also shaped how he approaches music. He tends to think beyond the song itself, paying attention to atmosphere, emotion, visual imagery, dynamics, and the overall experience surrounding a piece of music.

At the center of it all, the goal is simple: to create honest worship music that helps people turn their attention toward Jesus, encounter God personally, and remember who they are in Him.
